(Just felt the need to add a new category, 'Reykjavík Tales'...)
To the (very!) few of you who read my crap and don't speak Icelandic, this will probably not make any sense whatsoever. In short, it's about the preservation of the 'old town' of Reykjavík and how preservation makes more economic sense than tearing down the old to build new fuck ugly buildings...

Just my personal 'peeves' or thoughts...
The people in charge of inner city development seem so vehemently ant-Socialist yet they've welcomed that city structure with gusto!
"Það var breytt húsinu..." - What the f*** happened to grammar?!?!
As a teenager I worked for THE company that/architect who restored houses in downtown Reykjavík so I got a glimpse of his work and it was exquisite, I just wish the council would give him a chance (oh wait, the council is way too busy arguing over who really gets to run our city (or if it's legal to protest!) to actually run it properly!!!)
Earlier this week some harsh words about the Swedes and the French were voiced here but they have nothing on what I think about the people who are/want to control the city of Reykjavík! Get off your high horse, listen to your citizens and let them vote again! Don't patronize them, don't get sucked up by the minute power you may or may not have, Iceland is supposed to be a democracy so put it in action!
